The fur trade industry played a major role in the development of Canada and the United States for more than 300 years.
The fur trade began in the 1500's as an exchange between North American Indians and Europeans. A great demand for fur soon developed in Europe, requiring further exploration and discovery of North America as the industry expanded. The fur trade prospered until the mid-1800's, until the fur-bearing animals became scarce through over trapping.
Ideal North admires the spirit of the early North America explorers. Their strength, courage, resilience and innovative abilities enabled them to achieve a successful supply chain.

While it is true the fur trade was vital to North America's success, today we see that our need to ravage or destroy nature is not only morally and ethically wrong, it is clearly what is ultimately going destroy our plant.
Ideal North believes that if we could somehow take everybody and have them look down from a mountain top into a green valley below, hike along a crisp, clear river or just see how nature is abound on a snow covered mountain, they would forever change their values.
